Discussing Every Trace Rifle in Destiny 2 for Endgame PvE

Second last special weapon we're going to talk about :D
I've been a big fan of traces for a long time, so I hope this video does them justice. Instead of a traditional tier list, this is more of an analysis video that discusses what each trace's role is when it comes to endgame PvE.

Probably the main reason I use traces is, when you swap to your double special loadout for dps IT KEEPS MOST OF YOUR SPECIAL AMMO

meaning I can run something like izzy trace apex for ads/objectives and then swap to Izzy empty vessel apex for bosses

Works really well if you’re running special finisher during objectives and then swapping to surges with armor charges for dps

been using trace rifles quite a bit recently in gms and raids and love using path with shoot to loot. it has come in clutch multiple times when i run out of ammo in a dps phase and spot a brick on the ground

I picked up a STL Tricorn Retraced when it first came out and I'm so glad I had the 5hed to do so. It does so much work on bonk titan, star hunter, and bracer lock, all having such ridiculous ability uptime for Tricorn, radiant, and surges for a ≈220% damage bonus. It's like having a special MG

Jesus Christ, I haven't even finished the fusion rifle and grenade launcher videos yet and you've already put nearly every special weapon rank/discussion out. I can only imagine whether the next week will include all heavy and primary weapons, because I'm all here for it!

The Handling boost that the origin trait gives on Retraced makes it feel *wonderful* to use, especially since it has near 100% uptime if you use it right. I know that matters objectively less than most things when it comes to efficiency in high level content, but to me that heavily matters for whether or not I want to use it at all.

I think an interesting thing to mention similar to radiant with adaptive munitions retraced, is volatile rounds giving AB properties, and hollow denial can get adaptive munitions in slot 3. It does require sacrificing lead from gold but you could use that as a viable method to shred barriers while on void, mainly with gyrfalcons. If the ammo is tight for GMs you could run something like special finisher to keep your ammo topped off

Ever since the double special nerf ive been struggling to fit them in a build, i used to use them instead of primaries but it feels harder now sadly

Only OGs will remember the Coldheart dps meta for Calus. I too am a Trace lover even with double special meta falling off a bit with the ammo changes traces still always stay on my character

Love ya man, but I struggle to get behind trace rifles since the double special change. They just feel like a bad primary for add clear on anything but solar.

Totally agree on Paracausal Affinity on Acasia's; I'm not one for on-kill perks normally but 20% with other Light-based kills just feels too good to pass up sometimes!
