The opposition parties like BRS, NCP, TMC, DMK have strong state level political base and are greedy and possessive about maintaing it's hold. They also realise that they can never have a pan India appeal. Their other main weakness is absence of any cohesive and attractive ideology to give voters a viable alternative.
Congress is in its own ego trip and believing very seriously in the epithet "Grand" forgetting that it is an "old" party with any connect with any age group.
BJP shines as a citadel amidst the ruins of "opposition ".

Finally someone from the media has realized that BJP is already looking beyond 2024. This is chess and Modi and Amit Shah are already playing a different game and the opposition does not even realize it has been checkmated.

All this is fine, but one very important point is missed: The opposition parties have no compelling narratives to offer. "Finish Modi' might be a very important agenda for them, but why should people care, if there is little else?

Imagine 2 students who want to appear for exams, one guy prepares to get distinction and working hard, the other guy just preparing to get 30 to 35 percent marks and just want to pass by getting some answers (copying) from other students.... you can easily guess who has good chance of passing exam with flying colours...
