Alex is a resident of Enfield, where he will spend most of his day. On this day, we can see that we have been influenced by many environmental factors, and every scene is constantly influencing our choices, such as the rising price of vegetables, the relatively cheap price of fast food, the eye-catching Billboard advertising. In today's industrialized diet created by the capital market, it is everyone's right to have access to healthy and satisfying food on their own. The urban environment and people's eating habits influence their body metabolism. We will look at concepts coming from food Sovereignty and the potential of peri urban agricultural land existing in Enfield.
Food is something we can't live without every day. It's what we need to survive and sustain life. But perhaps what we take for granted in some parts of the world is a temporary gift from God. So we realize that food sovereignty is a social good that we all need to work together to achieve. It is inseparable from our lives.
By investigating the sources and supply of food in the UK, we have chosen to look at the structure of the UK diet and analyse the links between the current food supply system and the health status and daily life of the population. Choosing Enfield as the final research site for our project,we looked at concepts coming from food Sovereignty and the potential of peri urban agricultural land existing in Enfield. At the same time, relevant existing cases were studied to support the further design of new urban food supply systems.
