While building the fence for our new big summer pasture I always spent at least a few minutes at this spot, in order to envision moments like this ✨️

The tree I am sitting on is part of a group that I am calling 'tree friends'. Because I think they are the most amazing trees to be befriended with, and because they have grown in a circle like shape that really makes them look like a group of friends.
This is my very favorite place at the new home of my herd.
And luckily, they like it too!
They have so much more space and despite the challenges, every time I am there (currently every second day) it just feels right. And every day I don't need to be there, is such a reliefe in my daily rutines.
We now have 10ha of which 6ha are currently available to the cows. It's not just pasture, it's bushes, forest and hills. And it has always been managed ecologically which means that there is a high variety of all kinds of plants. Next winter we are going to have both, 2ha of land and a barn available and the people around us seem to be very open to welcome and support us.

I still have my intention set on creating a space in which my animal family can experience the highest level of freedom possible and where other humans are able to connect to them. And I surely don't want to be that far away from my herd on the long run. But this dream will probably need a lot more nurturing in order to become reality.
Until then I will practice makeing the best of what we have.

As soon as I will start my new job in november things will change. More financial relyability that I am so insanly greateful for, but also more pressure in regards to my other resources.

I need a minimum of 5 hours to take care of the cows currently. 2h driving, 2h bringing them water, 1h controlling the fence & having a few moments with each cow to connect. Usually I end up being away for about 6-9h.
And before the winter I will need to make a lot of improvements at our new shelter and there still is so much stuff left at our old pasture...

It's interessting that when ever I think of the challenges of the current time I feel like things can't turn out well...

...and yet, they still do...
