Merrick's dance is super sad, but I really loved it. The song by Alec Benjamin is absolutely amazing, very sad song but it has such a soft and touching feeling. I really enjoyed it and it was an amazing performance.

I cried the first time I watched this performance 4 years ago and I still come back and watch it all the time. It still makes me cry to this day, and it’s hit harder recently since I’ve had so many people I love die, including my father, my childhood best friend, and my family dog of 14 years. I think with all this new loss, this performance just hits harder than before. However, I will say Merricks facial expressions probably are what made the dance so special. He portrayed the face of pain and grief so perfectly, that’s what made the dance and captured my emotion.
