Finland becomes an official NATO member

Finland has officially become a member of NATO after applying to join in May 2022, setting aside years of military nonalignment to seek protection under the organisation's security umbrella.

The country shares a 1,340km (832-mile) border with Russia, so its entry will more than double the size of NATO's border with the nation.

The significance of Finland joining NATO is to protect their borders, territory, and people from foreign invaders.

Considering the present circumstances in Ukraine, security must be a concern to Finland. There is no telling what Putin is up to next.

Every sovereign nation has the right to make its own decide.

Good job by Finland, Sweden needs to resolve their issues with Turkey and finally join NATO too. It's funny how Putin was always saying that he started the war in Ukraine to stop NATO's expansion but in reality it was a lie and more countries will join the alliance now, even those who never thought about doing so.
