Robin is such an articulate person, even as a child, she was able to tell the police what happened. A lovely person with so much support. A fantastic episode.

The sad part of being home when a traumatic Event happens … especially in your home… it never leaves you. I’m 42 and we had an intruder in our home when I was 7 and my brother was 6 and my oldest brother was babysitting us….. I don’t remember last week…. But I remember ever minute of that break in at the age of 7. I still sleep with the lights on….. I still check every inch when coming home….that feeling of invasion never goes away.

She still felt responsible to her animals even tho she was in shock. Feeling responsible for something else can sometimes be what keeps us going.

That cop was meant to be there for her that night. He is awesome taking her to feeding her pets. He did anything to make her feel safe and forget even for a moment the tragedy that just took place. ❤

The first story, no matter how many times I watch this story, always got me choked up.. I am so proud of Robyn for being so strong and an amazing survivor. The police was such an Angel.

I was personally touched by the story of Ted Bundy. I left Tallahassee just before this horrific event went down. (I got on the phone one evening and told my Mother I wanted to come home. I felt something terrible was going to happen. And, I remember specifically telling my Mother that it was going to happen to me.) My Mother heard the terror in my voice and I quit school immediately. As it turned out, it happened to a friend. Cheryl, I'm so proud of you. We studied dance together. I am most grateful you survived this horrific nightmare. You were a tall, beautiful dancer who was filled with grace as seen even to this day. I remember you like it was yesterday. I hope to have an opportunity to speak with you some day. In the meantime, you have been in my thoughts all of these many years later. It's truly a joy to see your strength and courage. Which has never waivered.

Whoever raised Robyn after her family was murdered was an angel. You can tell they didn't fail her. She grew up to be a smart beautiful young woman and just looking in makes me proud 💝

When the first officer (Chad) walked around with Robyn feeding the animals just made me have so much respect for him and I wanted to hug them both. I’m sure there are many of us that watch these videos and go through the house and lock our doors twice before going to bed. This guy should have never been released from prison to begin with and this little girl and her family would have lived happily on their farm today.

I’m literally just 5min into the first episode and am struck by Robin Doan. To have gone through what she did and yet have the grace to think on her feet as few adults would have is so admirable.

She obviously matured into a beautiful young woman…I hope she finds a good and decent young man, and builds a wonderful life together…

These episodes are over ten years old - I would love for 48 Hours to follow up with the survivors to see how they’re doing. I hope that they are all well and surrounded by strong, loving support systems.

That being said, a Google search showed that Marti Hill has written a memoir and continues to share her story with others. Her website says: “Since the attack, Marti has made it her mission and passion to speak out and share her story. At her talks, Marti shares what she has learned in hopes of helping others heal and avoid potential dangerous situations.”

Marti, if you’re reading this, you are one strong woman, and an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story with the world. I am sure that your words help to bring peace and strength to other survivors.

My mom passed away 3 days after my birth and my dad passed away when I was 5 but this young woman's family was selfishly murdered and I commend her for refusing to be a victim... Beautiful woman, heart and spirit...
