This is why we use shotguns and rifles at our farm. It's instantaneous and painless. We treat our animals very well and we don't want them to suffer. I had a rabbit that was meant to be slaughtered but we grew so close to it that he was family to us. Him and I grew up together in middle school. He was spared and lived a long and happy life. Not all farms are cruel enough to torture animals.
