She’s so right. When I traveled to Africa and the UK for the first time, I remember specifically saying to my friend, 'What’s wrong with the bread?' My friend explained, 'There’s no sugar like in America, ' and I was like 🤯. We don’t realize just how processed our food is until we travel OUT the country.

I saw a documentary that talked about how in the UK Subway bread has to be categorized as cake because there is so much sugar in it. In the US, it is categorized as bread.

Nearly every foreigner I’ve met who’s come to America for the first time has complained about our food being too sweet. Even our meat is too sweet. It gives me pause. What are we Americans consuming?

When you travel abroad you know what time it is. I remember being in Uganda and asking what flavoring did they put in the rice and they started laughing and said, “This is how real rice tastes. You bleach your rice for look.” I was blown away.

And the water in Denmark is so pure!!!!
