From Season 3 Episode 18 ‘Val's Boyfriend’. Over sushi, C.C. begs Fran to help reunite her with Mr. Sheffield. Fran does so by getting her old music teacher- who happens to look exactly like Marvin (and is played by him) - to pretend to be Hamlisch and to convince Maxwell to take C.C. back.

"I wonder how long it's gonna last." Perfectly delivered line.

She does the nasally voice because we’re not ready for her sultry voice it’s too powerful for us

The non-nasally voice is so smooth and nice.

Claire actually having trouble holding it together makes this so much better.

The realest thing about this scene is all the New Yorkers in the background seeing her fall and still minding their own damn business😂

Her acting and the ability to do such a smooth vocal transition is why she was queen of sitcoms in her day.

Fran doesn't get enough credit for he comedic talent and impact. She was my generation's Lucy. She was, and is simply brilliant.

Fran Dresher playing on a show inspired by and written by herself is simply iconic. The way she reveals bits of herself through her comedy is timeless.

I love how Lauren Lane had to smile to keep from bursting out laughing at Fran.

That amount of Wasabi would clear the entire respiratory system and get rid of earwax 🤣🤣

I remember watching this scene as a little boy. My mom and I would watch the show together, and during this scene we both completely lost it. I thought it was so funny, and my mom and I were both in stitches. I remember her enjoying my laughter, and hugging me tightly. It's a good memory I kinda forgot about until I re-watched the scene here.

Hilarious how after she drops to the floor the patrons just look down at her and then return to their dinners like they don’t care. Great comedic bit.

Not only did the wasabi clear up her nasal passages, for a moment it also completely cleansed Fran of her New York accent as well 😂😂🤣🤣

When her voice changed, her whole like aura changed too. Haha That’s impressive. Then when her voice reverted back to normal, so did her facial expression as though her clear voice and her nasal one were two different women.

This is some Lucille Ball level physical comedy.

Fun fact: If you want to hear Nany Fine speak in a "normal" voice for longer, she can be seen doing the same thing on Season 1 Episode 3* which is available in full on the channel. She hosts a debutante party and is coached by Cheffield and Niles to 'talk in a refined, elegant way' and she speaks this way for an entire scene.

Fran was always so self aware. She knew her voice was different and some people even found it annoying. So she let it be part of this character she created.
Also, the fact that she's was beautiful but not afraid to look silly, really added to it. She's still beautiful btw. She's aging so well!

This scene alone should have gotten Fran Drescher an Emmy.

Hate her or love her, Fran Drescher was the best physical comedy female actor since Carole Burnette and Lucille Ball.

This was brilliant! I loved how Fran’s voice slid effortlessly from clear back to nasal at the end.
