After getting a free plow out of the neighbor's hedgerow, we set about bringing it back to life, and putting it to use! It's been a steep learning curve but a fun one too!

Equipment used:
Case Centennial Plow, WWII era or previous
Ford 8n, 1948

I grew up riding with my Grandfather on his 8N and your video reminded me of when we plowed to create the family strawberry patch. They're remarkably competent tractors given their age. You did great work there, both with the plow and the video! Best of luck with the farm this coming year!

We used the old 8N for plowing and disking because that is all we had until my father bought the John Deere Model A. Good luck in your farming.

Very cool. Where is your farm? I grew up “farming” as my dad taught vo-ag at the local high school and had the FFA chapter. Now, years later, I miss the work. And the deep satisfaction that goes along with it. I am a professor now and my best students come from farms. Work doesn’t bother them at all.

what's that lovely bush in the background. Detritus Ha~!! Not a word one would hear on a farm too often. But I am unsure that it's the right word.
That Tractor has draft control? I'm impressed. Only the caddilac of tractors have that option these days.
Nice farm, lovely family, animal husbandry is so good for kids.

Your not living the American dream you’re living the Godly dream I really enjoyed watching your videos your voice is so calming ! Isn’t it frustrating when those 8ns start leaking differential oil out of the splins that’s exactly why I finally found some 8ns with the inner axle seal because I got tired of not having brakes but I have had some luck with putting silicone on the axle splines and the hub splines and then I cut a round piece of old inner tube and put that over the threads and tighten the axle nut I forgot what the proper torque is but don’t tighten it to much they can strip!! But I just thought I would give you something to think about! Stay safe and God bless you and your family!

you know that a row is suposed to be straight and those chains whitch you took away what let the plow go side to side would be just to keep the plow straight and also give you more control over the depth and angel

Don't know if it applies to the 8N, but the Ferguson TEA 20 requires the PTO to be engaged so that the draft control function works and eliminates the wheel spin that you are getting. There's an old 1950's Ferguson video clip on YT that explains draft control. Maybe worth trying with your PTO system engaged?

TheSWAY BARS should be used if you want stright rows.

8n. Sway bars and a single 16 inch well work plow. If a plow is old and looks like it has never been used, it us because it is one of many that are poor design and never worked. Find a plow that looks like it is almost worn out. That's the one to buy.

Have you filled your rear tires on the 8N with liquid ballast? That would make a world of difference in the way it pulls a moldboard plow. Great video! Really nice seeing the 8N tilling the soil!
