I just installed a deadbolt from Schlage. I noticed a lot of play in the locking mechanism and seemingly cheap material for the back cover. How are these?

That strike plate is meant to go on the hole on the inside of the frame (where the bolt) enters, not the door.

Is there a "collar extension" that Schlage makes for a deadbolt installation where the door hole was cut out slightly too large ?

You installed the strike plate backwards on the jamb. The screws should be on the door stop side, the outside (opposite to what you did).

You skipped the HARDEST part of the install 🙄 in your video - getting the screws to align. Completely unhelpful
