2:52 - 3:17 i love how clever the writing of this part is. pam tells michael he shouldnt be with someone that makes him unhappy, and karen also seems to respond directly to pam saying all relationships have rough patches. they seem to be talking about michael and jan, but in reality karen feels the unconscious need to defend HER OWN relationship with jam (and they were at a difficult point at this time). pam holds her stance, almost making it explicit, saying they sound just like they're wrong for each other, and just looks at karen. i love this show so much

I thought it was so kind of Michael offer to pay for whatever they wanted in the clothes store after this. It really shows that when his attention requirements are met he really does pay them back with his generosity.
