Bought it to diagnose a 98 Pathfinder, with little hope it will work as the car is a old, and knowing that my newer Honda's will eventually need a scanner.
* the great:
-very intuitive, good user interface.
-connects to internet to download updates, send scan reports via email
-automatic vehicle identification. when it identifies the car, it pulls VIN and other info automatically.
-unit battery holds charge when not connected
-I was able to pull the Pathfinder codes, even though it did not auto ID it
-with my Honda's, it immediately recognize the vehicles, no VIN typing needed
-you can run a lot of diags with it
* the not so great:
-it will not auto ID my 98 Pathfinder, when this happens, you have the option of typing the VIN. I suspect this is a missing vehicle record in their database. Once typed, it shows as a GTR (I wish it was), which is a bit off. But this is more of a small annoyance.

I have seen others complaint about the machine not recognizing their vehicles. But you CAN type the VIN and it will identify the vehicle from it.
Overall, I am happy with it.
