I know a more advanced pattern that can only be done on every other odd layered cube it's basically a four sided checkered pattern but in stead of the opposite colors being paired it'll be be one of the neighboring colors

i figured out a way to do that on a 5x5 too, 7x7 doesnt work but i assume it might work on 9x9 if i had one

you can do concentric squares on all 6 sides of cubes from 5x5
