How long was the drive from Ks to Mt. Rushmore? any mountains that you need to drive through? are there areas to stop for gas, toilet or food or rest areas? Please advise.

which hwy did you take from Ks to Nebraska? then from Nebraska to Mt. Rushmore? we plan to get there in the fall.
