I'm glad a popular channel does videos like these. 👐 never had burn ins on any of my devices cause I use my phone at around 50 to 60% brightness ever since the s3 to now note 20 ultra. But I do know people who have had those problems and told them what to do. This video was very useful. As for an app I have found one that helps a little called oled saver on the app store.

OLED! Which everyone claims is better than LCD lol. It's the main reason I prefer LCD

I'm really happy you made a video about this! I was starting to think I was the only one, and started to make a video myself.

Great video. On my Pixel 3a running android 11 the feature to force dark mode under developer options is called, Override force-dark.

Just display a full white background at max brightness for the first few working hours of the panel. The luminance decay is not linear but it's the most aggressive when the phone is new.

I love high brightness and doing that has prevented my last three Samsung phones from getting screen burn. You're welcome! Oh, and a black background never helps, you need less contrast, not more.

I've always used dark or 100% black background wallpaper, and now use dark mode, for better visibility and battery life. None of my Amoleds have lasted long term as my main daily driver because my LCD phones have longer screen on time and battery life and don't suffer burn in. I use auto hide for navigation icons. Also, I buy several (2-4) phones a year. I never use auto brightness, again for battery life. Indoors usually around 20%, outdoors usually max. My LG, ZTE, Umidigi, Sharp, Cubot, HTC developer options do not include force dark mode. Cheers

Sir What type of screen display would you recommend? Next video.

another defense mechanism is screen rotation. The battery status, network signals, time, etc are always in the same position. So it's wise to deliberately be switching between using your phone in portrait & landscape.
Samsung phones even have the option to rotate your entire homescreen.

This is why I started preferring LCD phones again. Yes my iPhone SE doesn't look as good as an 11 Pro but I don't have to worry about burn in issues

I had that problem with my s7 edge and note 8 I'm lucky I haven't had that problem with my note 10 plus

if you use your device much, screen burn in eventually will settle in no mater what.
the good news is that my s7 had started losing brightness and had slight color degradation .
i went the phone to the official repair service of samsung and they changed the screen for free.of course the phone was within the 2 year warranty period.
that is the true value of big value of big phone manufacturers afters sales support.

Had some burn in on my note 3 but it was after 4 years of use... note 9 no issue 2 years in
Ppl shouldn't be scared so much of burn in especially if you switch phone every 2/3 years

Definitely don't use Dark Mode!!! Because (White Font) burns in faster on a Dark Background. So definitely don't use Dark Mode for a long Time!!! That's a huge Mistake. Don't use Dark Mode.
