Building an UGLY ROOF for the Boar Corral

Winter is here and the cold temperatures require some shelter for the boars to enjoy. In this video, Kelly and the boys help me assemble a rood for the corral. We utilize some reclaimed material, but did that make the roof too ugly?

Cold rain 37 degrees, cannot get much worse. Maybe close the sides and back and maybe close the front so they only have a small open doorway.

Justin Rhodes just mentioned they are trying to decide how to run pigs on hillsides. You two should connect up. I know you both know Hollar homestead.

Don’t let al the haters discourage you on the tin. It’s very Joanna Gaines Farmhouse-esque!

Love the birds mouth hack!

Merry Christmas to y’all!

That is literally the easiest birds mouth “jig” I’ve ever seen. Countless times I’ve fumbled with angles and all that mess. You learnt me somethin today.

A beautiful wife that can use a square, tape, level, and saw AND appreciate (or tolerate) your sense of humor ... you are truly a blessed man. Merry Christmas

A place out of the cold rain is never ugly. I would take it any day over a poncho, in a cold monsoon rain, that seemed to never end, a world away, a long time ago. Those chilled memories do not fade with time. That is a beautiful boar corral.

Never thought of marking the birds mouth cuts like that, so simple. Wasn't ugly til you put the tin on.🤣

If you're trying to create a dryer, warmer shelter for your deserving boars, shouldn't you lay a thick layer of woodchips down to mitigate the mud? especially at the entrance of their muddy shelter.

Troy buddy pal,

Ya gotta know the best part of having son's. I have two and one is 20 years old and the other one is 15 years old.

I haven't operated a post hole digger in 10 years. Hahaha

Who cares what the pig roof looks like? If it's effective, looks are for the cityits hahaha :)

That's looks very practical to me. It's genius. The frame was beautifully done. Would it help to cover the roof and open sides with something in extreme weather?

Your male helper in the black hoodie doesn't seem to happy to be out there with you building this for the pigs. It looks like Charlie Brown built it. LOL It will be a good place to send him when he is getting under your skin for a time out. LOL
