I bought this mower from Menards on 30 Mar 24. It’s heavy and hard to maneuver, but it is cutting well. The rear wheels lock up in reverse 95% of the time and I have to drag it backwards, exhausting me. The rear wheel height adjustment slipped, too. It also can’t seem to propel itself up a slight incline. I got mad during the 2nd time using it and went back to Menards to return it (as it is one of the worst I have ever owned (I’m 69)), but they won’t take it after being used.

Why should I have to start playing mechanic and adjusting things right out of the box after using it once?

I did this adjustment and the self propel only pulls it on cement. Why wont this move through my already cut grass... i paid for a self propel and got an over priced push mower.

I dunno guys, Lowes customer reviews for this aren't great for this line. Ariens is known for better quality. I hope its not a case of selling cheap crap using a companies good reputation. You have me worried as I just bought one of your 30 inch EFI snow blowers.

Bought a dual blade razor, top of the line. Blades are dull after 6 mows. The self propelled aspect doesn't work no matter how they are adjusted and the part the blades bolt to is broken. For 700 bucks I expect better.

This mower is trash and no one will work on it under warranty. So what is the fix for the wheels locking up because adjusting the cable didnt work?

Is this a recycling mower? Better than Toro super recycler?

This mower is an absolute POS. The self propelled feature barely works and I basically have to push it the entire time I am using it. The rear wheels also lock up. I have owned this mower for 36 hours and wish I never purchased it. Unfortunately Menards will not return it and stand behind their products.

I just bought this today. Have spent at least 2 hours trying to make the self-propelled feature work correctly.
Not good. This clown tells you absolutely nothing worthwhile. I have been trying that. No bueno.
Why would they sell a mower that doesn't work correctly out of the box? Why?

I almost changed my mind at the last moment today, and got the Troy-bilt. If this Ariens isn't working correctly by dark, I'll own the Troy tomorrow.
