Dealing with a customer who wont listen.

Humans are amazing, we have the ability to filter out things we don’t want to hear and most of us do it. For men, they can listen to an entire dialogue and the only thing they will hear is the part about the price. Our pre-qualification process requires that people are told four times before they attend our studio that purchasing decisions are made on the day and we do not provide proof sheets to take home.

Still, we get clients who are shocked when they are told for a fifth time, at the viewing session that if they want to buy anything then today is the day to do that.

‘No-one told us that’ they will say … (Uh, yes, we did … four times) but you just have to move on and manage the situation.
‘I know, just put the photos online and we will get back to you when we make a decision’ … ‘sorry, it doesn’t work like that’, you say, ‘as you will have noticed in the terms and conditions, your voucher entitles you to a viewing session which takes place immediately after the photoshoot, if you wish to make another appointment to view your images we require a $150 refundable booking deposit’

‘Surely you can’t be serious’ some say, but yes, we are serious and yes, we mean it. You will hear me talking a lot about ‘red flags’ during these videos and this is one of them, it sometimes (but not always) means that you don’t have serious buyers with you. Others have genuine reasons for wanting to come back and most often that is that, because they saw what they didn’t expect and were blown away by the photos, they need to bring their partner back to help them with the purchasing decision.
