Pes may be robotic but I rather play something that focuses on build up play rather than just pass pass pass trick skill pass shoot which is what Fifa is. Its a good game and DOES a lot of things better than PES.

A lot of people complain about the game being to easy or automated, then try some manual controls, Manual shooting and crossing are too hard for me, but passing and through balls bring some challenge, and also a more rewarding feeling. Trust me, it's so satisfying when you make that killer pass knowing you did that yourself without autopilot.

I don't see how anyone can say this game is exactly like FIFA 12. I played FIFA 12 right up until the FIFA 13 demo came out and I noticed the gameplay differences immediately. It feels much more authentic so far this year, and the game between speedsters and stocky defenders isn't nearly as absurd as it was last year.

I could agree with that. I'd also mention the Master League mode as a huge merit for PES, and it has always been. I also think the coop online in PES12 worked very well. It still has it's hiccups, but so does FIFA. And as far as I'm concerned, rage-quitting or the usual "I'll just score 9 own goals and then disconnect right before the game is over" behavior is more often found when playing FIFA online than playing PES. But I'm sure that varies greatly.

Pes just makes you work a bit harder and be more creative in actually trying to score a decent goal. Fifa just lets you score belters fairly easily

Dude, there is no denying that PES has evolved. I spent like days at home this summer playing PES 2012 in career mode on my PC, but FIFA 12 beat it at a punch, same here: PES 13 is good, FIFA 13 is best, thats the bottom line.

Stadiums in PES always look better and spot on, with correct gap between pitch and stand too. This year 20 La Liga stadia, with their own unique entrance. Whoever play PES this year must at least try a match between La Liga team. For FIFA, they focus on EPL, but for PES it's La Liga.

Normally I'm one of those people. But I agree that the game had a much more...fluid feel. Really it was like black and white. I felt like the players were more responsive to my actions than before. People probably say that because it looks about the same as before. But the engine is improving greatly. Perhaps the next big leap might be more graphical?

FIFA is what the less skilled and patient players choose. PES is what serious gamer plays.

I don't see why games like this are so popular, they basically ride off the hype of the real life sport and 1 year isn't enough time to make significant changes to a game. So you end up buying a game that there is no point having after a year because the new one is out. Where as in a game where the developer takes a longer amount of time the game is still worth owning sometimes up to ten years later. With games like this it's like having to pay a subscription every year, with some tweaks

the problem with player ID is that only the top or most famous players will get it.. the best thing these titles can do is have a look at 2k's animation sets the more set the better..

I like how Ign says Fifa 13 isn't that much different from Fifa 12 but in their review for Modern warfare 3 they fail to mention that Modern warfare 3 is almost the same a Modern warfare 2.

Everything fifa is getting new, PES already has. Training Mode, Camera Crews, International call up (careerMode), coaches on sidelines, players practicing on sideline
