I think in every written work, if many metaphors are used, there are multiple ways of interpreting it unless the author tells you exactly what the actual meaning was meant to be. I personally understand that her love is so strong that it goes beyond the bounds of the acceptable, like when you really missed someone and you feel like "squeezing the life out of them". :)

My choices, since I as a adolescent understood that we have to choose philosophically+ scientifically between absolute totalite and logical consistency, and converted to modern post - Nagasaki Zen, where the only human absolutes are death and birth; my choices have been guided by the least bad option to get out of a difficult situation - to choose the less ugly & the lesser evil. I guess it was my farewells to positivism that always seems to end in catastrophies, at least to me.
