Portland police describe ongoing protests

Three members of the Portland Police Bureau spoke to the media on Thursday afternoon to share personal experiences while working the front lines of Portland protests.

They say too many resources are dedicated to nightly riots, and not to crimes elsewhere in the city.

Since the protesters can gather in the streets to riot, Biblical Christians can gather in the streets and parks to worship.

I've lived in this city since my family moved out here in 1978. I love the people of this city no matter who they are no matter where they're from or what side of the political spectrum they're on. I love the eccentric eccentricity of this city, I love the parks and scenery, I love the local businesses. And it's because of this that I grieve for this city. I genuinely believe that Portland has unlimited potential for greatness. these rioters (they're not protestors) are doing nothing for this city. they're only smashing things because they themselves have no sense of purpose. This may seem rather radical, but in my humble opinion espcially now with the 70 + nights of rioting Ted Wheeler and the entire Portland City Council need to be Constitutionally removed and replaced. I recognize that not everyone likes who's in the White House currently. But this situation here in Portland is bigger than any of us. I genuinely believe it's time to take back the Downtown and the city from these rioters, It's time to once again unleash Portland's unlimited [potential for greatness. Understand I say these things not out of hatred, anger of rage but because I love Portland and I want to see us be great again.

Portland P.D. - I'm so sorry for all you've had to go through the last 2+months. The blame should lie strictly with the democratic leadership of the city who have allowed these riots to continue and incited more violence because they have emboldened the criminals. They are complicit.

on the first day of the notion to defund anything each and every towns governor, mayor, chief of po. any such leader should have denounced that notion hard and said the fact is we need more well trained officers at this point, , NEVER less to keep peace in the towns! anyone could see this anarchy coming, , shame on them.

Easy solution to all of this... Impose a curfew at 9pm. Anyone "protesting" after that time will be arrested.
