The Panhandle, our northern and all too often forgotten region, but "what's up there anyway?" you might say, besides cows, and dirt of course. Well not much I guess, unless you like things like; delicious food, hidden canyons, and history as big as Texas, all of which this town boasts in spades. Borger

Graduated there in the early 80s. Went back recently and glad I don’t live there. Main street looked like a ghost town.

Woah I’m a 20 year old born and raised in Borger and I’ll confess I don’t have much pride about it… but something about this just made me smile I know that’s home. Thank you so much for coming out I always thought we were birthing more than a bunch of plants

I was born in Borger 72 years ago. I couldn't wait to get out of it after 2 years at Frank Phillips Jr. College. I now live in Amarillo and occasionally go back for a funeral. In the 60-70s everyone had their noses in everyone else's business, but I guess all small towns are like that. I did have some wonderful friends in Borger, and now that I am no longer young and crazy, Borger doesn't seem as bad

You should do Dalhart during the first week of August for the XIT Rodeo and reunion. They have the "worlds largest bbq feed" along with other free feeds, like watermelon and pork chops and a parade and a rodeo, complete with a rodeo queen contest. They even have dances every night after the rodeo. Its a really fun time and it celebrates the XIT ranch that was approximately 3, 000, 000 acres from 1885-1912.

I knew Don Rash, proud he was from Borger. Ended up in Liberal, KS not too far away. A very successful man in Liberal, and one of the most proud Texans I've ever met.
