This webinar is part of the webinar series on Insights in Qualitative Research Methods, a partnership between ATLAS.ti, the International Qualitative Research Toolkit at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, and Inquiry Methodology at the Indiana University School of Education.

This presentation will focus on challenges and rewards of conducting qualitative research in an international context. We will highlight the practical and ethical considerations as well as lessons learned. We will supplement our presentation with examples from our international fieldwork.

Biographies:
Dr. Solina Richter RN, DCur Dean and Professor, College of Nursing, University of Saskatchewan
Dr. Richter’s research interest focuses on global health with special interest on vulnerable and marginalised populations, universal access to care and sexual and reproductive health. She has conducted multiple international studies and supervised several Canadian and international doctoral students to completion.
Dr. Kimberly Jarvis RN, PhD Assistant Professor, Faculty of Nursing, Memorial University
Dr. Jarvis’ research focuses on the culturally entangled practices and gendered roles that have marginalizing consequences for women’s sexual and reproductive health. She explores and addresses these concerns within a Canadian and sub-Saharan African context employing both critical and participatory approaches to effect change in health care practice and social policy research.
