Israel claims to have killed Hezbollah’s potential new leader

Israel’s military has confirmed the killing of senior Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddine.

He was a relative of the previous leader, Hassan Nasrallah, and was seen as his likely successor.

He was reportedly the target of an Israeli airstrike on Beirut earlier this month.
