I agree with Masae. Personally, I hope the grand rails don't completely replace the classic ink rails. I think they're distinct enough that they can co-exist. Classic ink rails were often configured for more platforming elements, with lateral rails stacked vertically, ink rails that travel straight up, etc.

I don't see why grind-rails couldn't let you switch between grinding as a kid, and having the ink-rail functionality by turning into a squid.

I love how this appeared in YouTube recommendations, but not in general videos

The biker Octarian's giant roller also has a katana hilt! It's super interesting because the Octarian's have this sort of extremely historical Japanese vibe that the Inklings don't have, with the Inklings being very modern.

For example, compare the Inkbrush and the Octobrush. The inkbrush is a modern paintbrush with its bristles tapered at the point where it connects to the handle,  with a big glossy tube of paint attached to it. The Octobrush, on the other hand, is a fancy wooden brush and the way the bristles are attached are based on the 'Hanga Bake' style of brush (look it up, they're pretty cool!).

Even DJ Octavio, who literally fights you inside of a giant stereo system of a mech and fires missiles that wear SHUTTER SHADES, _still_ wears a Samurai helmet (one which is quite similar to the one you can get for yourself as part of an Amiibo set).

I have a feeling that the level entrances would have a "Reccomended Weapon" sign near them, and you would be free to choose whatever weapon anyway.

I think people have blown the "unused" Octoling model thing out of proportion. Thing is, it WAS used. It's the octoling from the single player. =P I think it's likely that the underlying programming infrastructure of the battle system relied on the octoling model simply replacing the Inkling model and then being controlled by an AI player. That's why it's so easy to hack the game and replace the inkling model with the octoling model.

Splatoon 3 should be a prequel to the first game where the single player is Captain Cuttlefish in the war with a lot of WWII references and squid puns.

"Unused" Octoling model? You mean the one you've faced numerous times during the single player campaign? Because that doesn't seem unused at all.

I love that the huge octoling is based on a biker, having a black jacket and handle bars for his roller, but his actual way of moving around is a tiny unicycle.
