notice how the director makes a point to have daniel touch the light panel when entering the shot and how he shows the panel sway, that little creative seemingly inconsequential touch makes the setting more personal and instead of a set it gives the notion that daniel often touches that panel every time he enters the bar, luca has been doing this since cmbyn where he shows characters simply touching things

Funny enough, Craig is the fourth actor to play a version of William S. Burroughs on the big screen. There was Peter Weller in Naked Lunch (1991), Viggo Mortensen in On The Road (2012) and Ben Foster in Kill Your Darlings (2013).

I think it's accurate. I loved Peter Weller as Burroughs in Naked Lunch, but I see Craig in this scene capturing the accuracy of the main Characters loneliness, alienation and the fact is that he just doesn't fit in with the more Feminine men as he's attracted to the more Masculine guys, so he doesn't fit in in the Bar scene, but that's where everyone goes, kind of like Fassbender and Last Exit to Brooklyn, which is what you should Aim for within reason.
