You're actually spot on with sonic mania being a "32bit game". The whole idea was an "what if sega did a sega saturn 2D sonic?", and the game respects pretty much all the limits and strengths of the sega saturn system.

Shadow dancer has always been my favourite shinobi game. Setting your dog on people is a brilliant mechanic that is used really well.
