Software as a service, or SaaS, is a delivery model for software that relies on clouds of servers and other technology infrastructure. In a SaaS model, customers use software applications and services over the Internet.

In a SaaS model, software applications and services are delivered over the Internet and accessed by customers through a Web browser. Customers pay for the software application or service on a monthly basis, or for a set number of months.

SaaS applications are typically packaged as a software application server, a Web server, and a database. Customers use the application server to run the software applications they want. The Web server provides a location for customers to access the applications, and the database stores the application data.

In a SaaS model, the software application and service provider are one and the same. The provider maintains the software application and service, and the provider provides the infrastructure.
