Guys, ya'll 100% bought the wrong type of 6v battery. The batteries you installed are 6v starting batteries and not deep cycle. Duralast golf cart batteries are GC2 series, have different venting system, as well as screw studs at the terminals. The Duralast golf cart batteries are also longer, and should have fit without having to add support. The batteries you guys installed are not designed for golf carts, will work for the short term, but not for long. Good video, just calling that out so folks understand the difference.

Nice job on the golf cart. Hopefully that sale helped recouped some of your losses on that turd of a Dakota you got burned on. Btw, electrical is my specialty. I'm not so great on the mechanical side, and you don't even want to see me paint, but shoddy wiring drives me nuts and that I can deal with.

You installed engine start batteries in a golf cart designed for deep cycle batteries. First clue should have been the cables would not connect. Scratch your way up the learning curve before you show folks the wrong things to do.
