Why do the news stations and media ignore North Port? Prior to Ian's landfall, news coverage ignored North Port, and the lack of coverage continues. Even news maps, which show Venice and Sarasota, often fail to even located North Port. At nearly 80, 000 people North Port is the largest city in Sarasota county - larger than Sarasota or Venice, neither of which suffered the overwhelming devastation experienced by North Port residents. As one of the 5 fastest growing cities in the United States, North Port deserves far more attention by the news media.

Hurricane Sandy NJ was better assisted nobody prepared in FL boats weren’t removed from the water like in NJ where boats moved to dry storage before FL storm drains were blocked by debris and overgrowth.

Honestly I just don't understand why people live beside a volcano or why people live right on the edges of cliffs or in hurricane 100% garanteed zone then what it happens and not only does the routine seasonal event happen people didn't wanna evacuate and ride it out well what do you expect ya know? 2-2 doesn't equal 4+A
