Hi friends! Let’s make a pregnant Barbie by the trimester
These are the supplies we’ll use. Red playdoh, skin-toned modeling clay, straw, clear plastic wrap, rubber bands, 3 small plastic baby dolls (1.5inch, 2.5 inch, 3 inches), glue, clear plastic cording, and shells of different sizes (easter egg, kinder joy, for example).
“Heyy honey, I’ve got some big news!
You’re gonna be a daddy!
No way! Seriously?! Yeah yay!!
Wow, I’m so happy!
Let’s take a pic!”
Ok, so here’s how we're gonna make our pregnant trimester belly bumps
Start with modeling clay and mix the colors to match the skin tone of your Barbie. This Barbie is Asian and she has a touch of color, so we’ll add a splash of brown to the white clay.
Mix, then cover the shells you choose for the belly bumps. For the first trimester, we’re using the lid of a circular tube of chapstick. Get a good bump shape then smooth until it becomes more oval.
Next, we have a silly putty eggshell, for our second-trimester belly bump, a regular easter eggshell would probably work well too. For the third-trimester belly bump, we are using a kinder joy shell! Cover the shell thoroughly.
Now to decorate the interior of our womb room! Just make a small ball of red playdoh or clay, shape it into a big oval, and place inside.
Let’s look at our little Barbie babies! Our 1st-trimester little one is 1.5 inches, lOur 2nd trimester baby is 2.5 inches, and he’s already sucking his thumb! And yes, they can do that in the womb! let’s give him a drop of hot glue and use clear plastic cording for his umbilical cord! Now for our 3rd-trimester baby! He’s a 3 inch Barbie baby, and he’s gonna be a little cramped up in his tiny womb room!
Next, we’re gonna make sure they stay floating and comfy in their little sac, so take some saran wrap or a sandwich bag, splash some water inside, and secure it with a rubber band.
Let’s go ahead and place our belly bumps. And they’re gonna be so tight in the Barbie clothes we won’t even need anything to keep it attached to the Barbie doll.
Here’s Barbie in her first trimester. Do you see her bump? Oh, there it is! You’re looking beautiful, mama!
Let’s try out the 2nd-trimester belly bump, ooh getting snug! Here comes a surprise for Barbie! A rocking chair! Perfect for her to relax and daydream about her beautiful baby on the way
Now for the challenge; the third-trimester belly bump. It WILL fit in this standard Barbie dress, which stretches fairly well, but we will need to open the back up a little. And let’s squeeze it in!
OOOOH Barbie, you are showing off your big belly bump so well! And today is the day, let’s head out to see our nurse-midwife! And a few days later baby is here! Congratulations mom and dad! Your baby is a bundle of beautiful sweetness! Enjoy the moments!
Thanks for watching!
