I purchased a red Dinky in the secondary market. Had the bag authenticated as not fake, purchased the bag. Received the bag and boom. I contacted the seller who offered to issue a refund but I already removed the paint. I kept the paint a received a 50%discount cause the bag was painted and not revealed.

It’s like a big no-no. Before painting this bag did you try cleaning this bag with a product like Bick 4? It’s a process to bring back a bag. Clean, in between cleaning condition with (Leather CPR), repeat.
