This is great. No pushbutton start, no unnecessary electronics, nothing to get in the way. Everything is so accessible and seems so easy to repair! If this car isn't crashed/destroyed, it can surely be running fine in 50-60 years no problem.

owned one of these 25 years ago. funnest car I've ever owned. simple to work on, terrific on gas, motor was unkillable and the 4 coil springs gave you the most obscene axle articulation you could get from a bone stock 4wd. sure the window crank would snap off if you looked at it the wrong way or the seat would tear if you climbed in with rivet jeans but the liberty of going places only hardcore 4x4s would dare, was exhilarating. all you needed was the fatter tires from the cossack pkg and you could float over muck and snow where a jeep or truck would sink to the undercarriage. no beadlocks or diff locks or lift required. god i miss that lil tractor...and my rz500 :/

You can drive this car on any terrain without feeling sorry for it. Simplicity and practicality prevails

Back in 1982 my Dad bought a 1600 Niva. He loved it, compared to our Mustange Mom hated it haha. This 2018 version is 90% the same minus a more modern dash, seats, wheels, and tail lights. This one is fuel injected. If looked after they will run a longtime.
I really really live this one.

In 1998 i moved to Turkey and was there for 5 years. While living there I had a Lada...I have had ever kind of 4 x 4 offroad vehicle you can imagine...my Lada was badass...If I could get one here in the U.S. i would buy one...they are awsome and go anywhere...

These cars combine the essential elements necessary for a vehicle designed to operate reliably in extremely harsh meteorological and environmental conditions.

Simple systems and equipment designed to be easily maintained and repaired by owners using basic tools.

We never saw the long wheelbase version in the UK, but my choice would be for a long wheelbase two door hatchback (if such a model was offered).

I would rather own, operate and upgrade one of these than have a competitors model with push button everything! I don't like an overabundance of electronics in a vehicle intended to operate in remote, harsh environments.

The model shown in the video looks gorgeous in that colour, and the wheels took great too. The whole vehicle oozes compact capability, looking the right combination of size and weight.

Thank you for producing this video and posting it here.

As someone who owned a 1990 niva it's amazing how many parts appear to be unchanged in this new model. The roof lining, gear levers, shifter knob and hand brake are still identical. And the shifter still looks like it's too far forward haha. Loved my niva.

I owned a 1981 Lada sedan in Canada. It needed work all the time but it was simple to work on: Parts were cheap and it was the car that I learned to work on cars with. To this day I still fix my own rides and still use the lessons that I learned working on it. I still miss it and wish that I could get a simple to work on ride like it again.

big love and respect to Russia for keeping these amazing cars alive, not like the western rubbish. I would love to see 2018 version of Lada 2101

Lada is the best off roader. Cheap to maintain, good on gas, and best off roader. It reminds of the Bronco.

Classic style, cheep and very manuvereble off road, this car can give to every SUV off roadsters a lesson how to pass the heavy trespasses, snow falls . Cheep, relatable, can be fixed with the simple tools, and gorgeous classic look. Love the Lada NIVA BRONTO 4/4.

:' ( Will Lada sell it in Canada again? The lack of simple SUV/Crossover in North American is such a painful experience.

I owned 4 Lada Niva and the pleasure of driving this exceptional SUV will never change. You must know that it is he who became the first modern 4X4 with 4 suspensions without blades and a formidable effectiveness of origin! If you have never driven a Niva do your vision will change on this Lada product
