Blackmagic have announced the ATEM Mini Extreme & Extreme ISO to it's line up of production switchers. Here's everything you need to know about the two new models. With 8 HDMI inputs, 2 HDMI Outputs, headphone monitoring, 2 USB-C Ports, 2 DVE's, SuperSource, 4 Advanced Chroma Keyers, and a lot more.... It's hard to say this isn't the perfect ATEM Mini!

Thanks. Your video son the ATEM Mini Pro ISO really helped me take the plunge. I'm just amazed at the pace of progress and will be seriously thinking of upgrading to the the EXTREME ISO.

BTW I discovered that you can connect two SSDs to the ATEM Mini Pro ISO using a USB-C to USB3.1 Gen 2 hub (e.g. StarTech's UCB-C to 4x USBA 10Gbps hub with 2x Samsung T5 drives - and it will switch from one disk to the other as the first becomes full). I've yet to work out if the same technique can be use with OTG mode to make it possible to use webcam mode at the same time - but there's probably an issue with the computer and switch wanting to use the SSDs at the same time).

I got a mini first, and since I already had over eight cameras from doing wedding video started thinking about it and ran that into another ATM mini pro I got. Wanted to set this all up in a band studio for obvious streaming reasons as well as use in the future for weddings etc. this is exactly what I need!
And for those of you that don’t know strata pro also recently updated their software app for controlling the black magic Atem
I’ve been using it prior and now they’ve got an actual preset for such! This super helps me as the actual black magic units are across the room in the studio and I am playing keyboards singing lead vocals and harmony as well as controlling the lights and running the sound now also live 8 camera video production from iPad!
Really do love it I was always doing overkill and did 8 to 10 cameras at all weddings... and was getting into shooting 360 video for the band...
This is really going to be fun!

Any advice in the future for how one could slowly get into purchasing may be the lower end for using which black magic cameras for live concert and/or wedding video streaming would be much appreciated? mine are a accumulation of many different video cameras as well as regular cameras & 360 and I use final cut!

I bought this he ATEM mini pro iso a few months ago. Love it, still learning it. I agree with you about NDI support. Keep my existing ATEM and upgrade later in the year for ISO. Looking forward to your other videos on production flow!

Excellent video- thanks and the new devices look incredible. I can’t help but think that there are lots of people like me that only have 3 or 4 cams/sources, but really could use the dual usb c connections (one for cell phone streaming and the other for ISO SSD files) and dual HDMI outs. I also like the small form factor of the old ATEM MINI PRO ISO. Maybe an updated version ATEM MINI PRO ISO - version 2 with the form factor as the old model + 2 usb and 2 hdmi?

Hi Alex, I have a question. My Extreme just arrived and it's great, got everything up and running quickly. But the options for colour bars seems to have gone. It's no longer assigned to a source button (although there is a button for it on the Select Bus). I used to have this set as my startup state because it's a quick and easy way to see everything is working when you power up. Is there a way to assign the bars to a button?

1. Are the mic inputs for connecting a stereo source, for example from an audio mixer?

2. Do the HDMI inputs/outputs support 4k video resolution?

Great presentation Alex! did you know the HDMI cable Brand that Blackmagic (Grant) uses everytime he connects Atems on the desk? im pretty sure are the same cables that uses in BM atem brochures/ads... they look good quality, and he risks connecting live and everytime works!! want those cables!!
