I'm really glad beauty gurus like you are comparing and even questioning these duos. I'm tired of the makeup industry thinking I'll just buy something no matter the price simply because it's got a fancy brand name on it or because they say it's worth the price. These singles at $25+ or duos at $42 are ridiculous. I think even indie brands at $15+ for singles are too much. I've had your Stonned palette favorited for a while, I might get it for myself for Christmas.

i swear everytime someone swatches those ta shadows im expecting to be wowed either by different lighting method etc. but each and everytime i just cant/dont see why ppl are going gaga over them. thanks!

Once I’ve learned that most brands having stuff made in Italy, China, and South Korea have like 2 to 3 labs making all their stuff I really start to be more vigilant with price points.

A good rule of thumb is: if the brand doesn’t have their own R&D labs and pays another company to make their stuff, don’t pay big bucks for it. If an American brand boasts that something is made in Italy, look for drugstore italian makeup instead. It’s probably the same lab 🤷‍♀️ Same rule applies to bag brands too.

I feel like a lot of the people justifying this use these luxury brands as status symbols. They want people to know they bought expensive makeup bc they think it makes them better than other ppl.

Tbh I feel like the palette shadows look a lot better than the ones in the duo. The duo actually seems very dry and reminds me of chalk with how it sits on the arm on this video. The ones in the palette are BUTTERY.

Honestly I like the one from the pallet more, the shimmer is less chunky looking and more uniform and smooth

I completely agree!! That palette has so many beautiful colors, and I think the silver and champagne colors that you swatched actually look better quality than Patrick Ta; the shimmer looks richer/more pigmented. 😍🌟

Yup, you nailed it. I’ve looked at this palette several times. I’m also SOOOO curious about the palette on TikTok simply called duochrome that has roughly 30 shifty shades. The stoned palette looks beautiful!!
