Bought a Husqvarna LC221a today. Got it all ready to go but haven’t taken it for a spin yet. I’m trying to find videos with tips for placing and removing the bag. It was a bit awkward today. Thanks!

Have had the Husqvqrna Honda engine for years. It has been thro a bunch of tough stuff and has never broken down. Be sure you read the manual to know how to start it, where clutch, turn switch is, etc. service it yourself or get someone to every year. I cannot complain, you can adjust the blade level easily change oil, add gas, start it. you just have to read and learn the right/best way to do what it takes. If you can't start this mower you do not know what you are doing.

Why isn't the pull cord attached to the ring at the top of the handlebars (the place the manual recommends it goes)?

Got one with the Briggs and Stratton engine. New from Lowe’s last year (2017) Not a bit of trouble from it. Regular maintaince issues. I push mow a yard most people would be like forget that, get a riding mower. 3 to 3 and half hours to mow. The owners manual said synthetic oil is ok to use so thought I’d try it out since it’s a no change something or another. Will see how it last long term with that. Some people seem to think not a good idea. Starts up if not the first then the second pull, which growing up I wondered about being family had other Briggs engines you could hurt your shoulder yanking on the cord to try and see if it would start. Starts good though. Like ours. Hope it’s still around 20 years from now

This is the best mower, with a stronger engine, tires are easily excessable at Lowes, starts up with greatest eas, yes this is commercial grade, if your tired the day your cutting this machine will pull you around, my experience as a lawn technician for twenty five years, buying many turds only to struggle with parts and fixes, this won't disappoint, you will do more lawns in a day, I have one complaint, when I bought mine 2020it was in store, now you have to go on line where delivery fees and all that hupla. Better than Honda, craftsman, toro, and that sayes a lot .👍

I've got three rear wheel drive Husqvarna 21 inch mowers with the Honda engines I like them I use them for my business they are pretty good mowers

I have the exact same mower. I used it about 4 times (30 mins each) and now it will start but then stops in about 4 seconds. Will start every time then stop. I called Lowes to return it and they said have to bring it in and they will send it out for repair. Sucks being it is brand new. I read in the manual some models ( think ours is one of them) has a low oil sensor that will shut down the engine for safety.  Manual says if the oil is NOT low then don't use the mower and have it serviced because the sensor might be bad, sigh.  Also, just for your info,  the starting pull cord goes up the right side of the handle rail and put it through the steel loop and leave it there.  You are trying to hold down the starting bar while reaching way down to the pull cord and then trying to pull the cord so far out to get it to start. If the pull cord is in the loop up near the top of the rail, then the pull cord is already pulled out farther (the way its supposed to be) hence the pull is only a short distance to start. Hope this helps you. Our model is the 625 EX which means EASY START, and is guaranteed to start on one pull, haha yeah right good luck with that.

Yeah, I bought the L221A model, with the Honda motor, and it starts on the first pull. I noticed that you didn't put your pull rope, through the loop at the right-hand side of the push bar, I believe Husqvarna recommends that you do that. I mowed once since I bought it today, and the power is impressive. I noticed some complaints about the drive system getting clogged up with grass and making it loose some or all power, but in all fairness, to Husqvarna, the pics that the person posted showed that it was long grass, not short clippings that caused the problem. Also, I don't know if it had been ever cleaned out, or if it was from one mowing, but one should clean the drivetrain system free from material, that can impede its normal operation. But in the short of it, I like it so far. T. Sullivan.

Oh wow it really climbs that hill. I have a rear drive Husqvarna and it does not climb up like that, have to push so hard :/

you know the pull string goes through the hook on the handle bars so you don't have to bend over to start it right? also if you run fuel stabilizer like star tron I think it's called it will keep your mower running stronger for longer and get better fuel efficiency all by protecting a bit from carbon and stabilize gas for like I year I think it is, I run it through all of my commercial mowers and my all wheel drive husqvarna hu800awd/bbc I got to see if I'd like it to use as a bush hog but ended up using it for like everything and it loves to be pampered before using it to hell and back, I use castrol magnatec 5w30 and clean filters and sharpen and balance the blade and run fuel stabilizer and cleaner and clean the motor as often as I can and I have snappers and Hondas and toros and everything. they last so so so much longer when you take care of stuff like that

Run, don't walk away from Husqvarna mowers, especially the ones with AWD and Honda engines. They have major design flaws that will cost you a lot of money to repair. If you think Husqvarna + Honda = Quality you'd be WRONG!

$300!!! That’s a rip off!! In the uk for the same one with a bag is £90

Why don't you edge. As a pro gardener nothing, NOTHING irritates me more than someone who just mows over the shit and doesn't give a rats ass about trimming or EDGING. I have an L221 AHK. Best most powerful motor Kohler makes for a walk behind. It's an AWD husqy. 173 cc, edge your damn lawn
