Driver's position :
"Am I a joke to you?"

All depends on driver height, and car size

Stop it with the bad info

1) look at your car. Memorise what it looks like
2) sit in car
3) when you drive, picture where your car needs to be, and put it there.

Different cars have different measurements. While these might sound like good advices, please be aware that these do no take into account
-The driver's height,
-The seat adjustment,
-The height of the car,
-The length of the bonnet or (hood)
-The length of the car,
-How many doors it has

Imagine someone driving an SUV giving these same advice to his buddy driving a Sedan 😅

I taught my kids to use the mirrors when I taught them to drive, parallel park and the stop distance behind cars, too far versus too close. Also how to handle a Hydroplane & night driving, up hill & down hill driving and parking. They're 32, 33 & 39 now & good drivers. This is old news, but good!

This is all good info, and currently used by instructors to teach students to drive. I'm not sure about the 10cm, but using the side mirrors to stop at a line works every time. Drivers' height shouldn't play much of a part as they should adjust their seat accordingly. I loved the tip about splitting up the side mirror

No matter what all you need is experience

you mean SIDE MIRRORS not rear view mirror, 🤔...adjustments will come naturally for driver's comfort views and feels....still EXPERIENCE is the best learning process, simple as that.😎

Do not adjust your mirrors to the door handle. You don't need to see you car, adjust them to be just after you can't see you car anymore and you will have the better view possible

These are side mirrors. The rear view is on the interior before the front windscreen.

I don’t understand why people are so mean to videos like this if you don’t find it useful just do r wast your time why do you have to wast more of you time to post a mean comment… and actually these videos are very helpful to most standard cars so let the creators help who find this useful in peace and stop cluttering the comments

Bad advise, I have used the left mirror to determine how far from the curb the car is. I have to learn for each car, because it is different for each car.
Also if you see the side of the car in the side mirrors, you have a very large blind spot. You need to adjust the side mirrors so that when a car overtaking you is no longer visible in the rearview mirror, it appears in the side mirror.

Everything is based on your judgment and experiences. You cannot directly say that the position of the right bumper will be 10cms far. Of course it can be right to some extent but it's not always necessary that the driver is driving the same sedan he/she may have different cars and has set their seats based on their preferences. Some of the principles should be taken care of while taking front judgement or any judgement while parking your car but the way you said the length will be 10cm is surely a bummer.

The door handle in the mirror trick, works. I do that myself.

The "split mirror" tip is ok BUT there is still a BLIND SPOT on either side mirrors. It is when the vehicle on either side's front end is right behind the driver's back. The ONLY way to be able to see this spot is by pasting a small convex mirror on the far end of the sideview mirrors. These are sold at automotive accessories stores 😁
