This is more than just a movie, it is a Emotional Rollercoaster. This movie was one of the best Physically intense performances I have ever seen. For people searching for a Tearjerking and a storyline that is very well planned out, this is the movie for you.

I think the movie didn't do justice to the father...both of them were preparing to be parents...both of them lost their child...it is therefore painful for both....why does all the sympathy has to be for the mother....why did he have to give the sacrifice and leave his home ...it is extremely sad that the husband wasn't comforted by anyone and had to deal on his own

Hated the ending as leaves too many questions. Did he come back? Was Lucy his child too? Or someone else's? Shame was a great film up until the ending.
Has to be said scum taken the cheque and accepted payment to disappear.

I just watched this movie last night; Sad, powerful and intense. At first I had a hard time sympathizing with Martha because she was so cold toward the boyfriend and, if it had been me, I’d want the funeral and a grave for my baby. But I warmed up to her, and always felt the midwife did nothing wrong. I was quietly cheering for Martha at the end.

The cousin was going to handle a civil suit, but then all of a sudden is acting as a prosecutor in a criminal case? That made no sense. The photography store? They'd use a machine to print a full roll at a time, not a regular enlarger for each print. And you don't leave a print in the developer and walk away, so there can be a "movie moment." That could have easily been handled better. A friend developing them or whatever. Also, I keep reading that Martha's mother was a holocaust survivor, but didn't see anywhere in the movie where that's made clear at all. Otherwise, lots of good performances.

Poignant and bold! Beautiful and painful!
It is a piece of art that would leave you speechless. It is extremely intense and robust in expressing and showing all the feelings.
I did like its slow pace which allowed to take in the behaviour of he characters, the distress of the family, the appalling judgement of the others.
It just made me stop and think and, probably most likely, appreciate life!

The main character Martha was most frustrating character to watch. It just doesn't draw audience naturally to sympathize her. One has to tell themselves that she is being like that because she has lost the baby. I found Martha's mum's story more compelling and sad.

You have to be in a particular kind of mood the watch this. I could not watch it for very long at first. I had to stop paying my bills and eating, as I usually do while watching other movies. I needed to sit down with no distractions and a box of Kleenex. I applaud all those who made this movie. I’m sure they knew it has a select audience. They were unafraid to show what happens after loss, and they used alternative angles during the courttoom scene.
