My hat's off to you two; I started with a bare fiberglass 42' hull with deck and house 6 years ago and I'm exhausted! Watching vids like yours and others keeps me going. Thanks!

You and your partner make an excellent team. Your boat build will last you all your life and this is just a step into the future for you both. Brilliant job so far 👏👏👌👍

Seen all episodes and such a shame you seem to have had problems apparently not due to your error holding up further progress. The three of you are to be congratulated on how you have coped and sure you will getb there soon. Thank you for explaining problems and solutions very clearly with words and pictures. All the best.

Nice video, keep them coming. My father built a Roberts 44 the hard way, by himself, cutting and welding in the scrap yard of a textile factory he worked at. He bought the plans and half made frames from another guy and before starting checked his work. Half of the frames did not measure correctly. I think he would have been fascinated by being able to buy a boat in flat pack form, although he made quite a few changes in the design as he built his boat.

Great work! My dad and I toyed with the idea of buying 2 identical fiberglass hulls back in the 80's and fitting out 2 at same time since you spend all that thinking time figuring out have to do it the second one will take way less work! But I moved to USA instead and him to RSA ... Cheers Warren

I think its a smart choice to buy the kit. This will save you at least one year of your life and at the end its not much more expensive than building it from scratch.

That sounds a good price for today ... I built a roberts 36 steel cutter 30 yrs ago material and sand blasted, painted cost me 12 grand ... 18 months of hard work and had to figure it all out on my own ... sold it ... just seen it sold again still in excellent condition.... good down wind boat sailed like a dog to windward over 20 knts

The kit price seems very reasonable. Time can be more valuable than material in something like this. I noticed that the end of the video showed a boat going down the road on a trailer! I am supposing that it was your boat and you are way ahead of what the videos show. Congratulations if it was your boat and you are that far along. Looking forward to the next video. All my best to you and have a good weekend.

I built from scratch and I will say that if I had to do it over again I would look for a steel kit. The laying out and cutting of the steel is VERY time consuming and for me not all that accurate LOL Thanks for sharing this!

I think that's excellent time/money considering you'll get a boat in half the effort. Great work.

I am sure there's a few people out there that would love for you to write those instructions on how to fully understand the building, cuz I'm sure that they may be a little confused as you were and you could help them save a lot of headache.

Excellent video. Great info. I'm curious as to what the total weight of the boat will be once completed? What engine will you be using to move all that weight when motor sailing inevitably happens? Thanks again for another great video.

Wow! I'm so glad I found this channel!

How do you get the lead ballast in the keel? Melt? Ingots and epoxy?
