I am another ex-Muslim here. I'm sure you and other ex-Muslims will agree with me on this. After all we have learned about Islam, why in the world would we want to return to it? I'm thinking of all the inconsistencies and unnecessary restrictions. It's completely nonsensical.

I'm not a Muslim, but what got me interested in Islam as a physicist, were the quranic "scientific miracles".
Once I started to dig into the subject I couldn't believe my eyes when I read how cheaply these "miracles" were constructed and sold to the masses. It's outright insane !
Unfortunately it tells a lot about the level of education in the Muslim world and I start to suspect that this is by design.

The first time I started to think about Islam is when I knew that all muslim countries persecute minority on a certain level. Only muslim coutries do that, nonmuslim don't. Then I start to honestly study Islam with open minded stand. Finally I do not trust most of the stories from Islam especially the Isra miraj and moon splitting events, I strongly believe it did not happen and I stopped praying the way Islam teach. Had Muhammad said that the earth is round and the sun does not set after those events, of course I would believe that Isra Miraj and splitting the moon did happen.

Your description of Islam is 100% correct and I'll go so far as to say that you've been kind in your description of it.
