I think it means God is greater than anything, anyone, any circumstance. Greater than someone pointing a gun at your head or firing you from your job. It’s about worship, setting our mind on what we fear and giving our mental energy to that thing. Giving your attention to what you fear is akin to worshiping it. We’re supposed to fear God. In the worst circumstances set your mind on Him for peace and freedom.
I don’t agree that it’s some kind of test where we are supposed to stand strong. We’re weak but have access to the source of all strength, the Almighty who we’re allowed to call Father.
