Very interesting talk! Having downloaded and read the Tononi & Koch paper however, I’m still puzzled by the diagrams of the ABC Boolean logic gate circuit, (XOR, AND, OR gates), and how they relate to the binary 8-bit cause-effect probability diagrams. Does eg. 110 mean A&B are ON, but C is OFF, or is this one axis in an 8 dimensional cause-effect space? How is Phi then calculated from the resulting cause-effect probabilities? I like the general theory of IIT, but I don’t quite get the detail of how it works...
