At the 2024 Hero World event, Hero MotoCorp launched its sportiest 125cc motorcycle till date - the Xtreme 125R. Even though it shares its name with the Xtreme series, this 125cc sporty commuter stands completely apart in terms of design. Hero says that the Xtreme 125R has been designed for younger and more enthusiastic riders who want more than just a regular commuter motorcycle.

To achieve this, Hero created a brand new chassis for this baby Xtreme and equipped it with a chunky 37mm fork (the same size as the one on the Xtreme 160R), 17-inch wheels at both ends and wide MRF Zapper tyres. It’s also the first 125cc bike in the country to be offered with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). But at the heart of this bike is a brand new 125cc motor that is among the most powerful in its segment, keeping it true to its sporty commuter goal.

With prices starting at Rs 95,000, the Xtreme 125R is a little more affordable than its chief rivals - the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and the TVS Raider.

The Xtreme 125R looks smashing unlike the divisive Xtreme 160R.

Hero is going leaps and bounds in terms of quality, performance and design. Another amazing thing that Hero is doing is giving unique designs within the same brand. The Xtreme 125R, 160R and 200S all have different designs. Similarly the Xoom 110, 125R and 160 each look unique. Hope Bajaj is listening. 😂

1. How is the pillion comfort? (especially for older ladies because this is probably going to be someone's first bike or only vehicle in their garrage)
2. Reliability issues?
(let's be honest, hero engines are not known for their engine reliability, so how reliable is this engine? )

If Hero offers a 149cc engine, Rear disc brake and RLP for the Single channel ABS variant in the same price, they will become the king of commuter segment and dominate every commuter motorcycle in the market with that model because it's already stunning in the looks department.
Also, Hero can launch a 125cc or maybe a 149cc variant of Xpulse 200T with the same suspension & wheel setup of Xtreme 125R and heel & toe gear shifter for family guys in the same price because it has a more relaxed rider's triangle and has a single seat. That will also be a blockbuster in the Commuter segment.
With these 2 models itself, Hero can dominate the whole commuter segment.
They should also launch a 200 4v variant of Xtreme 125R with rear disc and dual channel ABS in the performance segment.
