Indian Navy is doing much better that what Indian Airforce. The ships, submarine, AC all are on track and a credible defense is formed. I think there is a leadership issue in IAF which i think is evident from past 3 Airchiefs...i hope some credible leadership is seen who can raise the concerning issues of depleting sqadrons and series of Delays.

Indian Government is deliberately ignoring one key vertical for the Navy which will provide pivotal in the conflict scenario, which is Minesweeper Currently Indian Navy has no Minesweeper Vessel in its fleet neither are any pipeline project to be undertaken in coming years that will provide to be a fatal shortcoming if Chinese Vessels try to blockade India from entering assistance of Allied forces in the time of Taiwan hostilities or Indi-Pacific theatre of war igniting in few years to

Is there a live page that shows inducted and retired ships charted? Like in next 10 yrs navy is going to add 10 new x class frigetts and retire 3 y class frigetts etc. In India context we hear a ton about induction but not retirement and it makes it difficult to assess growth rate or replacement rate. A video on a long term projection plz

If it is having only 8 brahmos then there is no updation atleast 16brahmos of 800km and nirbhay missile 1500 km with 4 ciws and 100+barak 8 missiles are required to optimise ur platform and move towards blue water navy.

Subodh Ji...if we look at Israeli Saar class corvettes, they have more teeth per tonnage than our frigates...although our threat perceptions may differ, but such big nearly-capital ships need to have more fire-power including the the ability to launch as well as defend against unmanned threats...although i am happy that finally they have replaced the old BEL RAWLS with Indra radars...my wish list would include Brahmos along with another cheaper or longer range cruise missile, Barak-8 along with VLSRSAM & some effective anti-drone defence....we must also look for a replacement or upgrade of MFSTAR along with the possibility of some limited BMD capabilities


PS - If you please forgive my lack of appropriate knowledge...as we already have Swordfish LRTR can we couple it, or a variant, with ship-based variant of AAD/PDV to deloy something similar to Aegis for our IN ships

IAF and MOD along with other support agencies will rely on 50% technological strength and 50% Super Jugaad to defeat any misadventure by the enemies. So let's wait for 5, 10, 15 and up to 20 years to catch up with China. Bharatiya defence enthusiasts would not be satisfied even if we reached 90% Aatmanirbhar, and they would still make fun of our defence preparedness in the future. They would not be happy if India attained 100% Aatmanirbhar in 100 years since extraterrestrial technology will always be 1000 years ahead of us.
