I'm 70 + Years old and never did I expect ABBA to still be around 2023, when I saw them Live in January 1975, just as they were beginning to Break worldwide. Thank God for these 5 Swedes, (I include their Manager Stickan Andersson also - an absolutely pivotal person for ABBA:s Success). Also - I'm Swedish, an ex Pop/Prog/Punk Musician who over the years reluctantly had to admit that ABBA must be the greatest pop Group Ever. And in good company with The Beatles. Period.

Such a groovy, funky little tune by ABBA...one of the great things with ABBA besides the most important, the extreme high quality of their songs and music, but its also very cool to see how much happiness they spread in their videos..almost always happy..feel good moments alot..in their videos. I never seen any group that ever looked so happy as these 4 fantastic people...and even more, no better music anywhere else either..love this tune..

how nice to see you at the middle of the week!
and with an extraordinary song by ABBA, which has many peculiarities:
1) I think it's the first in which each of the girls sings a verse as lead voice
2) the video was recorded at Agnetha and Björn's home, because Agnetha was very late in her second pregnancy (that's why maybe she's sitting and cared for in the picture)
3) "The name of the game" was released in October 1977, a month before "ABBA The Album" and the movie "ABBA The Movie"
It was a bold gamble from ABBA, it opened their horizons and spread beyond pop.

I think that "The name of the game" (1977) have some vibs of influences of BEATLES songs like "Penny Lane" (1967)
curiosly, "The name of the game" was #1 in UK (4 weeks) and replaced in the #1 for "Mull of Kintyre" by Paul McCartney
