At range he out does Matt, but if Matt closes the distance and stays on him and uses that boxing talent he messes that man up.

This is why season 3 was so great. That first fight between them in the Bulletin office showed each of their strengths. But one thing also have to keep in mind is that DD was not at his prime strength then or in many issues of the comics. He almost always is forced to fight through the pain because of how self sacrificing he is. That is DD's biggest super power: his will to keep going.

Main reason why bullseye had a better chance of beating daredevil close was because of the injuries Matt sustained from a falling building. You can tell Matt is at his weakest and still managed to put up a good fight
