Car and Driver was able to hit 0-60 MPH in 3.9 sec in this new Golf R with DSG, which is insane for the price. This thing is still probably the best sheer performance/price winner.

Wanted this car so bad but I agree with Yuri. The infotainment is such a deal breaker. unlit touch buttons, no physical volume and climate control. Classic case of a company creating a problem for their solution. It's also dangerous if you're on the road and have to deal with that. It's honestly maddening.

Haptic sliders and fake buttons are pure evil.
There needs to be some kind of law requiring a volume knob and physical HVAC controls. For safety, if nothing else.

Why VW? Why change the actual buttons for touch screens and capacitors?? Why? We love the interior of the MK7.5, so why change it? Anyway, congrats on a great video. Hopefully VW hear us and change it for the 2023 model

So torn with my 18 R. I love the improvements with the heating steering wheel, cooled seats, more power, heads up display, wireless carplay/auto, etc.... but man that infotainment system and buttons looks and seems brutal. I love my 7.5R interior because it's such a perfect balance of a clean look, responsive(ish) touch screen, and buttons. I hope VW takes note of EVERY single review of their new cars and the awful responses to their infotainment systems. They really went the wrong direction to the point where I'd consider going somewhere else despite loving my R.

All these hot hatches with drift mode just show how revolutionary the Focus RS was. These days basically any AWD performance car worth its salt comes with a drift mode. Sucks that Ford stopped making it.

Hey guys, correction, this engine is EA888 EVO with forged pistons.
My bro is mechanic in Europe and says these are WAAAY more reliable than regular EA888 in GTIs
