Oh my, as I was driving in my very very small hometown I heard this song and was overwhelmed with tears as I recalled my childhood memories of my mom, especially my grandfather Charlie, and cousins of all ages who have passed on. If I could go back I would spend more time hugging and kissing family and letting everyone know how much I loved them♥️

I have been playing this song since I first heard it. It has been on cds and my computer playlist for at least 20 years. I just listened to other "renditions' and cut them off after a few seconds. No one since McKinley Mitchell has captured the meatiness of the song and the music accompaniment. Just play the song and don't try to copy it. You just simply can't. I'm am surprised though, that a gospel artist hasn't redone this song, but not change any of the words.

I also love Jimmy Johnson version, I’ve been playing it for about 35 years. Jimmy was one of the finest Chicago blues Man and guitarist who I had the pleasure of seeing live in a tiny club and sitting and talking with him during the breaks some 32 years ago. He died not too long ago and may he rest in peace.

OMG I'm sitting here watching TV and this song pops in my head R.I.P to my mom she was old school so I grew up listening to all this as a child growing up in the 80s I didn't know the name of the artist or song so I went to Google hummed it and this popped up after my second attempt and it took me back when I would here my mom listen to this my music memory is solid not to mention I'm 43 so to be like 4 or 5 years old and still here songs in my head is insane
